Polyol synthesis of palladium hydride: bulk powders vs. nanocrystals.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Palladium is converted into palladium hydride, beta-PdH(x), in polyol solution using NaBH(4) as a hydrogen source; nanocrystalline Pd reacts to form PdH(x) faster and at lower temperatures than bulk Pd, and can be made to release hydrogen to regenerate Pd.

Facile synthesis of palladium right bipyramids and their use as seeds for overgrowth and as catalysts for formic acid oxidation.
Controlling the shape and thus facets of metal nanocrystals is an effective way to enhance their performance in catalytic reactions. While Pd nanocrystals with a myriad of shapes have been successfully prepared with good uniformity and in high yield, Pd right bipyramids (RBPs) that have a singly twinned structure have been elusive. We report a facile route based on polyol reduction for the synt...

We report the synthesis of 2 nm copper nanocrystals (Cu NCs) via a microwave-assisted polyol method without using additional protective and reducing agents. The Cu NCs are oxidation resistant and exhibit photoluminescence and highly stable properties in a colloidal dispersion.

Noble-metal nanocrystals have attracted increasing attention owing to their potential use in catalysis, electronics, and biology. The physicochemical properties of these nanocrystals are highly sensitive to their shape and size. For example, the number, location, and intensity of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) bands of Au and Ag nanocrystals display a strong correlation with the shape of the p...
متن کاملMulti-walled carbon nanotubes supported palladium nanoparticles: Synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity towards methanol electro oxidation in alkaline media
Palladium nanoparticles supported on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Pd/MWCNTs) have been synthesized using a modified polyol reduction method and its performance in methanol oxidation reactions has evaluated. The morphology of palladium on MWCNTs was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic performance of synthesized catalyst ...
